Today we began our new unit in writing. We will share our opinions about collections of items, books, movies and more! Please bring in your collection of items tomorrow. Some examples include; hair-bands, baseball cards, dog figurines,or Calico Critters. We will be launching our new unit on Opinion writing! We hope you have been enjoying some great books during the vacation. What are some of your favorites? Don't forget to use Raz-kids.com or the Raz-kids app.! Some children in our class will receive certificates from Mass. State Rep. Sean Garbally for demonstrating acts of Stratton PRIDE.
This month, Stratton students are working on the trait of Independence. During the last two days, Mrs. Barth has seen students working independently on their small moment stories. Not only are we pleased with the students' writing stamina but we are also very impressed with the quality of the students' work. Please send in your book swap donations ASAP. Thank you!
The book swap is this Thursday! Every child will receive a book (even without a donation). There are donation boxes outside classrooms. As you can tell by the note on the box in the photo, the children are really looking forward to this day! Today our class met with Mrs. Lees' third grade class. In groups we talked about the Jan Brett books we recently read with our buddies. We discussed how these stories show elements of Fantasy. The third graders showed us how to use the Kid Blog app. We will be using this app very soon in our class! Mrs. Barth and her family have been seen on the channel 7 news showing their support for the Red Sox! Mrs. Barth celebrates "Truck Day" at Fenway Park with Wally! We are looking forward to Spring Training! We hope you are having some fun in the snow and are enjoying this great hot chocolate type of day! Reminder to bring a lunch (in a disposable bag) for our field trip tomorrow to the New England Aquarium! |
