On Tuesday, my oldest son Brendan joined our class. He read a story, helped pass out supplies and supported students as they packed up items. He really enjoyed meeting our students. When we went out to recess, 5th graders invited him to join their kickball game. Many thanks to the Stratton community for welcoming him!

Today was the perfect day for some outside reading! Who’s ready for summer reading?  Congratulations to our second graders for a successful WorldFest! Thank you parents for your support! The children’s reports are so informative and their posters are stunning! Today second graders were able to get a taste of the string instruments they will be able to play at school in third grade. Be on the lookout for the flyer for this optional program. Ask your child what she/he learned from our sun/summer safety lesson today. My take-aways include; reapply sunblock after going in the water, wear long pants on hikes to reduce the chance of bug bites, and always let a family member know when and where you are going in the water at the beach.The beads on the children’s new bracelets turn colors as reminders to put on sunblock/seek shade.
