Today I started setting up our classroom. The room is brand new! I can't wait for you to see it! The AC felt very nice on the warm day. I'll continue to post more photos of the progress.

Dear Families, During the first week of school students will make a collage on the cover of their Writers’ Notebooks. I am asking that you help by sending in items to help decorate their notebook. Items can include; * Photos- of your child with friends/family * Memorabilia- from special trips or events (tickets stubs, sections of brochures) * Stickers These images will help generate writing topics related to the memories and interests. In the past, children have been very excited to share these while getting to know each other better and this helps to develop our classroom community. These images will be glued onto the cover so it is important to know that they can not be returned in their original form. It is helpful to have the items flat, and around 3x5ish. Our goal is to fill the front cover, and the children are welcome to decorate the back and inside of the notebook as well. Please send in the items in a labeled bag on the first day of school. Thank you, Julie Barth Stratton's Curriculum Night will be held on Thursday, September 29th. (Time TBA) I look forward to sharing additional information about our year together.
