Stratton Recess Closet

The Stratton School PTO is happy to once again offer the Stratton Recess Closet. Children need fresh air and outdoor play everyday. If children forget their outdoor clothing or if they do not have access to outdoor clothing, they cannot play safely and enjoyably. The Recess Closet is a collection of necessary outdoor clothing so that every child at Stratton can be warm and dry during recess, no matter the weather. Our social workers will also pull from this collection for our children who need this clothing at home as well as school.

We are looking for volunteers to help this effort! If you are willing to help sort clothing donations and/or wash winter gear throughout the year, please email K.C. Kourtz at kckourtz@gmail.com. We are still doing an inventory of what we have from last year, but typically we collect: rain coats, rain boots, winter coats, snow pants, snow boots, and tough gloves -- in all sizes from 5T to children's 16. As you begin to sort through your children's outgrown items, please consider donating them to our recess closet. More information about the collection process will be coming soon -- thank you for hanging on to items!
