Each class at Stratton created a poster sharing their ideas for school rules. Our delegate presented our poster during our last PRIDE assembly. The members of the Convention are currently reviewing each poster and are now working to create school rules. Many thanks to student R.P. for being a wonderful representative for our class. This has been an amazing process to be part of.
I am very proud of our second graders. Each child wrote the characteristics of good leaders. The boys and girls were invited to run for a seat in Stratton's Constitutional Convention (a group of students, teachers, and parents who will create a document of school rules). Interested students were asked to write the reasons they would make a good leader on this team. The children then presented their speeches to our class. They used their skills learned from our opinion writing to write very persuasive arguments. The class voted on one delegate to be part of the Convention. The children were kind, thoughtful and showed all aspects of Stratton PRIDE during this process. Each class at Stratton created a poster sharing their ideas for school rules.
