"Dot Day" 2013; Make Your Mark...Make it Matter

Picture
The book "The Dot" was written and illustrated by Peter H. Reynolds and it shares the story of a young girl who learns to "make her mark in the world".  She then happily encourages others to do the same.  "The Dot" was published 16 years ago on September 15th.  Students and teachers across the globe have been enjoying "Dot Day"; a day in which we celebrate how we each make our mark in the world!  We then hope this celebration continues to last all year!!!
On September 15th, Mrs. Barth and her family visited the Eric Carle Museum and joined Peter Reynolds and other Dot enthusiasts!  Students in Room 4 will celebrate Dot Day on September 16th at Stratton.  We will read "The Dot" and we complete many fun dot activities!  Stay tuned for photos!

ColAR Mix App. on Dot Day!
The students created unique designs on ColAR Mix templates.  Then they used the ColAR Mix app. on an ipad or an iphone to make their design become 3-D.  The children could continuously change their 3-D designs and play music while enjoying their design come to life!
(This app. is free and their are several other cool templates to use!)  Let us know which ones are your favorite!
